We had literally been waiting in line for almost an hour and it seems like we had not advanced in that amount of time, not even a step. My legs felt like jelly from being up for such a long amount of time. I felt and heard my stomach growl from not consuming at least a small portion of food. As we were about to give up on the ride and walk out of line, we were called up next. It had been two months of fundraising, and the long awaited trip to Magic Mountain was finally here. I was just the tiniest bit uneasy about the whole idea, based on the fact that I had never stepped foot onto a theme park. The awkward thing about this whole trip was that I truly did not know anyone on this trip except for my dad of course. While we waited, my dad and I talked about the view in front of us which was, of course, the roller coasters held at Magic Mountain. We talked about Goliath and how the drop was so steep and dangerous, my dad also teased me the entire time because how nervous I was just by being here. Moments later my band teacher introduced us to these two girls who had happened to be in the same grade as me but I have never really noticed them before. “This is Gloria and Jenelle, you’ll be chaperoning them today, is that okay or would you rather be alone?” Mr.H asked my dad with concern and a smile. “No, not at all” my dad responded back. We already had gone on three more rides beside Viper and I was already feeling something different. I was talking to Jenelle and Gloria as my dad led us to the place where we were supposed to have lunch with the rest of the kids that had came with us. I would be lying if I told you they had such a variety of food for us. The food they had were, rubbery hot dogs with stale buns, not ketchup or anything, heated hamburgers that looked like they were a week old, and store bought chips.
