Hospitals are the home of joyous moments, never-ending tears, breakthroughs, and improvements for many people. Additionally, hospitals are home to surgical rooms, Intensive Care Units, Emergency Rooms, Radiology, and other departments that are aimed toward the goal of treating patients. Hospitals provide a variety care for patients, especially with the advancements in technology. In 2003, for every one hundred Americans, thirty-eight had visited the emergency room in the past year (Newport 2003). A hospital is typically used for short-term purposes, unlike a long-term facility. Long-term care facilities provide care to those who are unable to care for themselves. Hospice provides a calm, peaceful environment for residents to ensure their passing is as easy as possible. The thought of losing a loved one can be hard on a family. Luckily, Hospice also aids the family through such a difficult time. Sometimes, deaths within a family can be overwhelming and may cause mental health problems, which may require rehabilitation. Mental health and rehabilitation go hand-in-hand. Mental health has an effect on the entire body. Panic attacks can cause major problems psychologically and physically. This is an example of a mental health disorder that can be treated through rehabilitation. Panic attacks can be caused by a job or school, which may cause a person to seek help from an industrial health care center or school health services. Industrial health care centers and school health services have one thing in common, they are for people who are struggling somewhere outside of their home. Industrial health care centers try to maintain the “health and well-being of workers” (Medical). If workers are in good health, job accidents are reduced. School health services attempt to keep school-aged children in good health. Exercising and dieting can be controlled by the school system; therefore, it is the perfect way to try and keep students in good
