Racially Different Cast Lin Manuel Miranda changed the game with his hit musical that covered history with a musical twist in Hamilton but people have had problems accepting the casting calls that were made by him but he has very well reasons for this. The racial difference has been addressed as the founding fathers were all white males but in the musical Hamilton the ethnicity groups have been very diverse and different than history tells and it has brought the attention of many because of the choice that Lin Manuel Miranda the cast director made by choosing a racially different group. Martin Luther King Jr. was casted to a white actor but in Hamilton’s case Miranda reversed the problem and casted actors of color to white characters such as the founding fathers, but as some saw his decision to be genius and game changing others were offended by his plan. Randolph Mclaughlin from CBS News said “what if they put an ad out that said, ‘whites only need apply?”, he was one of many offended by this saying that he thinks it violated some of New York city’s human rights but the producers of Hamilton did get approval by Actors Equity. To me the problem isn’t a big deal and doesn’t need to be argued because they have they followed the rules of human rights and made a great musical, not all plays need to involve predominantly an all white cast of actors, Lin Manuel Miranda did something different in his play that many noticed and it brought more attention to his amazing musical and I think he made a great decision by doing that because he isn’t discriminating against white actors he just wanted to express how great an all colored cast can do while playing white characters of
