The Legislative branch is made up of two houses of Congress, the House of Representatives and the Senate. The main role of the Legislative branch is to make laws. To do this process many government officials are needed to make this happen. There are many federal officials and jobs in the Legislative branch. The branch is comprised of the House of Representatives and the Senate which forms the United States Congress. Congress can declare war and choose presidential appointments. The Executive checks the Legislative by using veto power, proposing legislation, creating an annual budget, and call special sessions of Congress. The Executive checks the Judicial by their appointed Federal judges and justices. The President has seven roles as the Head of the Executive branch, they are: Chief of State, Chief Executive, Chief Diplomat, Commander in Chief, Legislative Leader, Chief of Party, and Guardian of the Economy. It is outlined in the Constitution that these are the many roles of the President. The Chief of State is supposed to give morale to the American people. The Chief of State has many responsibilities such as, awarding medals, greeting people that enter the White House, give an inspiring speech on Independence Day, and celebrating astronauts for their courageous journey to space. The Chief Executive job is to oversee all the officials that work in the Executive branch. The President decides how the laws are enforced and appoints officials. The responsibilities for this job is appointing the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), reading Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reports, and conducting Cabinet meetings. Chief Diplomat is where the President, American Ambassadors, and Diplomats say to foreign governments. The President makes foreign policy with the help of advisors. The Chief Diplomat’s responsibilities are traveling, writing, or inviting and welcoming foreign diplomats such as Great Britain, Russia, and Japan. Commander-in-Chief oversees the U.S. Military which includes all branches of military such as, the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps. The President decides all military strategies and where troops will be deployed or stationed. The President’s responsibilities include deciding to bomb foreign countries, stop riots in American cities, and inspect Navy yards.

The house of representatives is made up of 435 members, and the larger the population of the state is, the more representatives it will have. The House and the Senate are also known as Congressional Chambers, and they both have particular exclusive powers. The consent of both chambers is required to pass any legislation. But it can only become law if it is signed by the President. The President has the power to veto a bill though, which will deny the legislation and kick the bill back to Congress. It may then only be passed if 2/3 of both houses of Congress vote to pass the bill.
