Throughout the several weeks in our leader-servant lectures, I have learned many things about how to become a better individual and how to make my future brighter. Recently, I was moved by Professor Armstrong’s talk. In Professor Armstrong’s lecture about graduate school, I understood the importance of furthering my education. This presentation influenced my future goals, and has been the one of the most important lesson I have learned being in the leader-servant class. From a young age, I have understood the importance of furthering my education by going to college. As I have grown up, I have since wanted to pursue a PhD in psychology. However, I did not know the process or what I needed to do to get into graduate school. Lately, when I have been thinking about my future, I get scared because I am not sure what I need to do. He said that some graduate courses they pay you, while in professional fields you pay them. Because I want to go into the psychology field, I would need to find a graduate school where they paid me to further my education. If I do this, then I can gain more knowledge without having to worry about financial issues. Furthermore, I can help aid my future family while I am still in school. Another thing Professor Armstrong mentioned was the types of tests you would need to take in order to get into graduate school. Going into the psychology field, I would need to take the GRE test. After the lecture, I started to look at how the test was formatted. I knew that I would need to study diligently for the test, and work very hard in order to get a high enough score to get accepted.
