However, I have not been taught how to search for a job. There are no classes offered that teach students how to create a resume, go on an interview and what jobs are best-suited for different personalities. I think this is essential because a job experience has the possibility to teach responsibility, time management and communication skills that are essential. Also, it is difficult to find a job, or even an internship because my school does not have job fairs or information sessions. This made my search for a summer internship difficult. Fortunately, my uncle suggested an internship with the Congressman, which I pursued. I was required to submit a resume; however, I did not have one, nor did I know how to create one. My father helped me condense my skills and activities since I had not learned that skill. I know college will teach me what is necessary for job applications, but I would have liked to learn these skills in high school because it would have proved beneficial last
The Revised Children’s Manifest Anxiety Scale (RCMAS-2) is a revision of the Children’s Manifest Anxiety Scale (CMAS) created by Cecil Reynolds and Bert Richmond in 1985 (Reynolds & Richmond, 2008). The RCMAS-2 includes an updated standardization sample, improved psychometrics, and broadened content (Reynolds & Richmond, 2008). Although these revisions occurred, the brevity, elementary reading level, and content-based item clusters were retained, offering an updated and effective tool for understanding and treating anxiety in school-aged children (Reynolds & Richmond, 2008).
The project was completed successfully and all objectives were met. The staff were efficient with the allocated duties and were able to assist the student with their needs during the orientation week. The presence of students and parents at this program also helped promote the University to attract future students.
Maus is a graphic memoir by Art Spiegelman, about a father, Vladek, survivor of the Holocaust and a son, Arty, who wants to know what was it like living during the Holocaust era. During the holocaust years, Vladek was advised by a rabbi that his tattooed number will bring him luck. Throughout the story, he continues to personify the luck his number represents by being persistent and hardworking. Despite suffering starvation, thirst, and not feeling well, Vladek continues to remain humble by helping his fellow inmates. Many years passed after the war ended, Vladek was portrayed as this conservative man, but there was a reason behind that mask. Vladek did not want people to step over him like he was stepped on before; he wanted to teach Arty
The Honors Program is less about reward and more about the push for personal growth for myself. The last four years have shown to be a challenge, from being the first year student in Pre-calculus to being the junior who is aiming for a five on the AP test. I came from having mostly A’s, with few B’s, to being the student who earned A’s in every class. Personal motivation led me to this achievement. The Honors Program at CSU looks like a program to help me continue my journey of gaining knowledge. Being a member of this program would give my motivation to continue to strive for those higher grades. It is in my interest to be in this program to keep my performance in classes at the upper level. This program would allow me to focus on academics and strive for the best grades personally possible.
The discussion-based curriculum Honors program offers is one aspect that particularly appeals to me. In high school, I have consistently participated in class discussion, with the teachers and with other students, which has helped me gain a better understanding of the material being
My father once told me that the greatest men in history were those who showed their uniqueness through their intelligence those worked to not only improve but to insure a culture of compassion and courage was left behind. Those who could think unique at a higher level than their peers leaders like W.E.B. Du Bois who I have come to highly respect, they left a culture and way of thinking that was unique. I would like to make a difference in this world and dedicate myself to the greater good of humanity. I Kenneth Gathimbi feel that furthering my education at a higher level will help me achieve this goal and a degree in political science would further my understanding on how to serve the people as a public servant. I come from a diverse background
Even among Doegyal devotees, there are conflicting views about the sudden death of Tulku Dhakpa Gyaltsen. In fact, there are four different versions. Firstly, in the 5th Dalai Lama's autobiography, “Heavenly Garment” there is a detailed chronicle description of the death of Tulku Dhakpa Gyaltsen, and the people who were present. Such description is very useful for research work of the issue, which you can confidently explain to the world. Amongst Doegyal devotees, there are three conflicting views.
In life, people come across challenging obstacles’ when trying to achieve their goals. College, like that of life, has a variety of challenges that appear in a student’s pathway to their goals. For most college students that are just starting out in the basic classes, such as Mrs. Fox-Angerer’s English 101, problems can arise due to classes being much harder than the prior high school classes the students are used to. Mrs. Fox-Angerer’s class is hard because it has an online portion, it creates stress, and it is a required class.
Entering my freshman year, I did not take any honors courses that my high school offered, which made me realize that I need to work hard and maintain high grades in my classes. As a result of my past year of tedious efforts, my sophomore year I was selected into Bayonne High School's outstanding “Academy and Fine Arts”. As I excelled through my academic career through the Academy, I was put through the painstaking task of maintaining high grades within rigorous courses. However, my hard work and accomplishments did not conclude with this, I was recently accepted into The National Honors Society, Rho Kappa Omega Society, World Language Honors Society, and English Honors Society. Not only did I excess academically, but I also had many research accomplishments. For example, I conducted a bacterial growth research project where I observed the effects of natural-occurring compounds on the growth rate of “Streptococcus pneumoniae” as a means of determining which compound will be most beneficial for
With my acceptance into the University Honors Program, my educational experience will undoubtedly be enhanced through various aspects of the Honors Program, one of them being the Thesis/Capstone Project. Over a three year span, I will have the opportunity to delve into deep, complex research about my major and then write a thesis paper of my hypothesis. This process will involve me finding a mentor, most likely a professor within Georgia Southern’s staff. Therefore, I will be making connections through my thesis paper. The Thesis/Capstone Project will also enhance my educational experience by showing potential graduate schools I have went more in depth within the material of my major.

During these five years of high school in the IB program, I’ve had the chance to learn a lot about this educational program and the learner’s profile. For this final year, I was assigned to use everything I’ve learned about the IB to do a personal project. A project on a large scale that will show everything I’ve understood about the program. I decided to take a topic that I love and for which I am passionate, which is my native country.
This chapter discussed the reflection on the project and the wider implications of the project, and demonstrated the reflection on the MA experience. In a word, the major project and the MA experience gave me an extraordinary chance to carry on the higher education and learn new and advanced learning skills.
Social activities are mostly intriguing and inspiring while at the same time it can benefit you with certain set of skills that allow you to widen your horizon. From personal experience, I have been a part of many volunteering events, and Junior Achievement is one of them. I have never heard of the program before attending the Business-Professional class with Kiki; frankly my first impression when I knew about the program was not the best, but after being a part of the program I started to enjoy the experience that I had with it. In this paper, I am going to provide some personal experience of what I taught as well as the valuable experience I gained along with some factors that can be improved by the organization in the future. My intention would be that it could help JA becoming an even better education provider to all the children around the world in the future.
