One major connection that I saw in this film was the authoritarian personalities of Judy’s parents and community. From the time Judy is a little kid to the time she enters the force, she has this preconceived fear and prejudice towards foxes because of what her parents have told her about the foxes, and because of her personal interaction with Gideon Grey at a young age. I really do think that Judy’s parents are the primary reason that Judy fears foxes. When they sent her away to Zootopia, they gave her fox repellent incase a fox attacked her. They told her repeatedly that it is in the foxes’ DNA to be savage and to attack. Although Judy says that she doesn't believe in any of her parents beliefs, she still shows signs of prejudice toward the fox population. For example, when she leaves her apartment, she doesn't take the fox repellent spray but then quickly runs back inside and grabs it. From the very first scene at play at Judy’s school this idea is brought up. Judy says in the play that predators in the past had certain DNA which caused them to be savages. Also, Judy’s parents mention to her that foxes have certain DNA which causes them to be savage. Judy tries to not cave in to these ideological ideas but they are definitely present. The prey certainly think that they are superior to the predators because they don't possess the DNA that makes them go savage. The ideological racism is definitely seen when Judy holds her press conference and tells the media that the reason predator are going savage is because they posses certain DNA that makes them crazy.
