Job Shadowing Reflection

For me, the Senior Experience has been a challenging yet rewarding process. Most of the obstacles that came about were when I was doing my research. Finding reliable and substantial evidence that supports my claim took time and effort but once I found it I could easily work it into my paper. My advisor for this project was Mrs.Greathouse. Fortunately, she is my ILT teacher as well, making it convenient for us to meet. She was very helpful and kept me on top of things, all the while leaving me responsible for meeting my requirements. Something I could have done better was practice my presentation with her before I actually presented but since my job shadowing was so delayed, I didn't have much time to do so. When I began my project, I wanted to choose a topic that I would enjoy and can apply to my own life. Therefore, I chose a topic about natural medicine. Recently I became involved with the use of essential oils and saw results, so I decided this was a good opportunity to do some research on why they work. A majority of the sources that I relied upon were doctors, psychiatrists, or laboratories that gave experimental proof that essential oils enhance D the immune system, aid mental illness, and work naturally with the body. She is an independent distributor for the company Young Living Essential Oils. In our time together we discussed the effectiveness of essential oils and how they've changed her life as well as her children's and her allergy ridden husband's. We watched a few seminars on the background of Young Living and their mission, and she kindly showed me her large collection of a variety of oils. Through this experience, I got the opportunity to see a real life example of how oils really work. One thing I could have done better was ask a few more questions but a sufficient amount of information was attained from what I did
