Recommended: My definition of happiness

In My Antonia, the character Jim Burden defines happiness as being dissolved into something complete and great, and when it comes to one it is natural as sleep. I think that this means that he sees happiness in being a part of something good, and that happiness just happens naturally.

Antonia is a seemingly happy, bright, and light hearted girl. I think that she would agree with Jim’s definition of happiness.
