With my phone on my right hand, scrolling through my feed, I noticed, “How long has it been?” As for myself, I’m well rounded on getting hook on social cites. Actually, think about it this way, have you ever wondered about what you could do with that allotted time if you’re not on your social media or on a website? I take decades or centuries just to catch up to my friends’ posts and feeds. It’s a form of “fitting in society” because that’s just how we live now on Earth. We are always caught up on connecting through the Internet. There are so many ways to use the Internet. (Connect with friends, use for research, watch movies or shows online, etc.). Although, I see it as overgrowing; too many people uses it involving the young generation. Yes, that’s the problem. Internet usage is universally utilized throughout our generation and it is inducing into adversely aftermath due to a stretch of social media, explicit websites and a preeminent upshot of disturbance.
First of all, social media has gone viral. It’s ridiculous! What are some social medias do you often visit? For me for example, I regularly stopover at many social cites. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr). What I noticed was that each social cites has a messaging system running. So whenever you wish to talk to someone, you’ll be able to in instant. It’s quite amusing actually because you can just easily talk or message to someone who is very far away from you; but still remain in contact with that person due to internet. Besides of messaging someone online, you can also video chat with him or her.
Although you can recognize a face while video chatting, you’re still ranting to a screen. Face-to-face online is way different than one-to-one interaction publicly. Yes,...

People no longer hold conversations in person and instead prefer to socialize through technology and social media.
Technology was created to provide simpler methods for us to accomplish our task. With the help of technology we are able to provide faster and efficient services. With affect of faster connection, it can be said that communicating with others has become more efficient and simple. Thus we begin to question ourselves, it the simpler method really the best methods. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, are some of the major social networking system that most people in the world know of. These networks are said to promote to help faster connection between people, but in some cases the faster connection is what keeps two people away from each other.
In the past, it was hard to stay connected to people who didn’t live near or close by to you. The only ways you met people were actually going out and physically meeting people or through friends and family. For some people it was hard to stay in touch with people if they moved away. In today’s world digital technology has changed the way we communicate through many different ways. Social media is one way that has changed the way everybody communicates. It is revolutionizing the way we communicate in a more efficient way through the workplace, our lives, and the way we connect and stay connected to one another. With that being said, social media sites such as, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram has helped make communication a faster
With the exponential growth of technology what previously took a lifetime of work can now be accomplished within a few years. Over the period of this exponential increase, Technology-Mediated Communication (TMC) has become essential for the growth of many countries. This is true for both economic and social development as we are much more connected with one another compared to a few years ago. There are various forms an individual can use to communicate with someone ranging from a simple text message to using more complex systems such as video conferences. Social media based communication takes place on social media platforms that can be broken down into classifications. The three main classifications of social media platforms are social networks,
Social media is so popular that according to a recent article published by forbes.com, “72% of American adults are currently using social media sites; that figure has gone up 800% in just 8 years”(Olenski). Social networking was originally created to simply reconnect people with old high school pals, but in recent years it has evolved into a completely different operation. When social media first originated it was also intended for adult usage, which has in recent years expanded into the usage of all ages. Social media can create a negative affect on lives because it has been proven to be a dangerous addiction, for it takes away interpersonal relationships that are essential in life, and it has been proven to prevent people from being productive in life.
We are living in the 21st century, the technology is more advanced. If you stepping outside in the society, you will see that everyone is caring a smartphone around with them every day, so that they can check their social medias at anytime and anywhere. Nowadays, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, and other social media, dominates both online and offline communication of college students and adults.
...line that social media offers has created this addictive nature within this generation. This is a very worrisome thought when thinking about the future and the skills that this generation will pass down to the next generations. The Forbes article stated it best, “With all the powerful social technologies at our fingertips, we are more connected – and potentially more disconnected – than ever before.”
Social media although a great tool can become an addiction ultimately affecting our lives and state of mind. That is why we need to limit the amount of time and information we share on social networks. Although the internet is a tool full of good and bad available to everyone, teenagers and young adults are more prone to falling into the traps of the internet. People also abuse social media and overuse it every day because they are concerned with what is happening every hour. Social media is a tool not a necessity and should never be abused or used as a diary because it could result in unwanted consequences that can hurt us in the future.
Our society today has become dependent on social media to entertain, excite, and inform each other on the newest and latest hot topics of today’s world. Some people cannot go as long as an hour without checking their social media websites whether it is on the phone, computer, Ipad, or any other electronic devise with internet. The creators of social media have made it easier to recognize and draw the user in with notifying pop-ups every time something new happens in the cyber world. The easier it gets, the more addicting it makes it to check every second. Also, it’s not only the youth and teenagers using these social media cites; it also claims adults as well. One of the main reasons people make social media accounts is because people are nosey about other people’s lives. They get a social media page such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to monitor people and see what they are missing out of in the world. People post pictures to their “page” for everyone to see how good they look or how funny they are. Since everyone has a social media account, others feel obligated to make one, two, or even three accounts. What used to be rare is now typical for a normal person to have at l...
“We barely have time to pause and reflect these days on how far communicating through technology has progressed. Without even taking a deep breath, we’ve transitioned from email to chat to blogs to social networks and more recently to twitter” (Alan 2007). Communicating with technology has changed in many different ways. We usually “get in touch” with people through technology rather than speaking with them face to face. The most popular way people discuss things, with another individual, is through our phones. Phones have been around way before I was born in 1996, but throughout the years, they have developed a phone called a “smart phone”. The smart phone has all kinds of new things that we can use to socialize with our peers. On these new phones, we can connect with our friends or family on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Technology has also developed Skype, a place you can talk with people on the computer with instant voice and video for hours. The new communication changes have changed drastically from the new advances made in technology through our smart phones, social networking sites, and Skype.
With the progression of the 21st-century technology, the world is becoming highly advanced day by day. Social media has shown tremendous development over the past few years. Social Media allows users to create and share content with other participants by constructing a semi-public or public profile. With widespread availability of the internet, online social networks are growing rapidly. As more and more people join these networks, physical distances are no longer a barrier in communication. The rise of social media since the
People are able to communicate anytime with each other without fear of disrupting anyone. People can’t call each other at two in the morning, but they can send each other an email or comment on some’s profile picture. That makes people more connected and more involved in each other’s lives. “Social media tools can be a gre...
Social media is becoming a larger part of society everyday. Globally, ninety-one percent of internet users have at least one social media account and the average teenager will spend nine hours a day on social media. Social media seems to be taking over society at a rampant pace. Has society become too reliant on social media? Have we lost the ability to communicate in person? While social media has introduced many pathways of communication, it has also been detrimental to self esteem, face to face interactions, and effective communication. Possibly, people are losing the ability to function without the use of social media.
One of the main reasons why social media has positively affected our society is because of how it has made communicating with people much easier. “Today, four out of five active internet users maintain at least one social media profile” (Moe, 3). Using these websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and etc., people talk about everything with anyone from what they are planning to do, also what they are eating and much more (Moe, 24). Also we can also send private messages to other users of these websites about personal m...
First of all, social media has made it possible for people, or even families, who live far away from each other to communicate easily. Before, people used to communicate through writing letters and having them sent through the mail, which would take a lot of time and communication could not be done fast enough and constantly, however, now communication is easily done through social interaction networks on a daily basis using the Internet. Head of marketing at FreshNetworks, Jo Stratmann, states that indeed social media has completely transformed the way that people communicate with each other, and in a positive way, and is improving internal communication between people and even companies and workplaces (Using social media to improve internal communications, n.d.).
