A clicker system benefits school systems and students to help provide better education. Clickers are reliable, easy-to-use, cost effective, and accurate which make them a great tool to improve education all across the world. With a clicker response system, all students are able to indulge in class through a more active learning style. An active learning style allows students to stay attentive and not doze off during a lecture and miss important information. From the quiz responses, the professor is able to determine whether he should spend more time explaining the concept, or if the majority of the class understands the idea, allowing him to move on to the next topic. Technology has made learning more enjoyable; the more students enjoy their learning, the more they want to continue their learning. Teachers used chalk boards, and then progressed to whiteboards and now they are using smart boards. Smart boards are advanced boards that allow teachers to teach and share information with students in a lot of ways. Moreover, use of projectors, screens and addressing systems (speakers and microphones) allow teachers to teach a large number of students simultaneously. Plus, technology is used in a very effective way to teach second language learners with online exercises that can improve their English skills.

In referring to interactive whiteboards, the term interactive has long been associated with the aspect of interaction between the teacher and the board, rather than the participation potential for students (Northcote, Mindenhall and Marshall, 2010). “The research suggests that the use of IWBs has the potential for enhancing interactivity in learning contexts, especially considering their motivational impact on students and their capacity to involve students in using and viewing a range of media” (p. 507). Many teachers and students hold the common view that interactive whiteboards increase engagement, motivation, and participation. (Edutopia) In making the case for Project Based Learning, we show that this learning style helps students benefit in a multitude of ways. It helps with engagement, retention, and cooperation. Project based learning gets kids moving and doing, instead of sitting and listening. It exposes the student to different activities, topics and demographics that they might otherwise have little to no experience with.
Using the knowledge of technology integration, I can help students and my classmates to analyse, learn, explore and think critically and also to be creative, innovative in this digital age. As I continue to reflect on this course, I realize that the use of interactive educational activities such as group work can promote critical thinking and creativity.
