Hello! My name is Daniel Brinker, a weekly reader of your articles in Health Times. I’ve noticed that in each article it seems that you have a strong disliking for vaccines. I personally think that as a user and encourager of vaccines, that I should tell you why they are ok. Vaccines are good because they provide immunity to a disease by inserting dead or weakened pathogens into the body. This helps people to be immune to disease and help them fight off this disease easier with these vaccinations. Vaccines are good for three reasons. They help grant active immunity to diseases and viruses, they help to acquire passive immunity, and they also protect other people around you. When you receive a vaccine you develop active immunity. This immunity is when your body develops naturally or artificially acquired immunity by exposing the body to antigens. This help to protect from invading pathogens. Passive immunity is when your body receives antibodies from another person or animal. Passive immunity is different from Active immunity because it doesn’t last forever. It doesn’t create those same disease fighting antibodies. Passive immunity only lasts for a couple of weeks or months. It can be Natural or Artificial like Active immunity. If it is created through Artificial Passive immunity an injection of prepared antibodies produced by animal or human that are immune to that disease. This allows immunity but only for a short period of time as these artificial cells eventually die. If they are receive immunity through Natural Passive immunity instead of using cells from another animal or human the immunity is granted via the mother. These antibodies aren’t injected but are passed down from the mother to the child during pregnancy. Both allow for immunity either by injection or by trait and help fight off disease effectively and
