Within decision making in sporting environments, there are many aspects that influence an athlete’s choice. These aspects are things surrounding the athlete, this includes the people who are close to the them which is mainly the coach, their team mates, their parents and other support systems. The type of task that needs to be completed also affects decision making as they need to decide whether they are doing an attacking or defensive play. This helps the player decide whether they should pass the ball or not. This also depends on what context the athlete is in or how much information is available to make the decision. The context may be during practise, during a game or in a specific play. When making a decision the information available needs to be taken into account.
