Identical strangers by Elyse Schein and Paula Bernstein portrays the life of the twins and their search for information of their origins. Along the way they are told no and have to find other ways to get what they desperately want. The back and forth between the twins shows insight to the minds of both girls but in turn causes confusion on which one said what. They meet others whose stories that reflect theirs. Paula and Elyse also relay the some of the people's stories and the studies on nature versus nurture while sharing their story of discovery of their past. Toni Morrison's novel Sula is about two young black girls that become close friends, but eventually split up and take different paths through life. Sula decides to go against social conventions and live a more independent, reckless life, while Nel on the other hand decides to marry and settle down. In the end both girls are nearly the same, even though they lived their lives very differently.
I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson is about two twins, Noah and Jude, who have a close relationship but 3 years later, they don’t even talk. Each of them shares their story about love and sacrifice. However, the twins do not realize that each of them only has half the story. In the book, the twins had to reunite in order to clear up their past. The theme in I’ll Give You The Sun is to stay true to yourself. Jandy Nelson expresses this theme through characterization, symbolism, and plot.
As read in many different articles and the comments after the articles, people either are confused and name them unknown, or they call them two people with one body. The question to if they are punished the same seems to go on a mystery, but as their mother,Patty, states that they are two different people and wants them to be treated as two different people. This gives the assumption that in their household that they are both punished differently, but it is not certain. There is no other evidence that has been found of how they would be punished if they were to get in trouble. But each twin seems to want to be known as an individual rather than one, they both want their own driver's license even if they both are in the picture. However, along with moral responsibility one is in control of one side of the body as the other is in control of the other side; Abby is in control of the right side and Brittany controls the left side. They can’t sense each other's side, each side is similar to a body of its own. They are able to make their own decisions and plans, as said in the video. But most of the time they come to a compromise of what to do and how to go about things in the future. They both react differently to their challenges, and they both live the journey in different ways. They are dissimilar because of the way they receive the call, the way they react to their challenges, and the way their lives restart after their adventure.

In “The Stranger”, the protagonist, Monsieur Meursault, is characterized as cold, uncaring, and emotionally detached. Throughout the novel, Meursault expresses no emotions toward the death of his very own mother, the proposed marriage between the woman, Marie Cardona, who became his lover, and to the actual murder of a man he didn’t know. While the jury at his trial sees him guilty because his uncommon and disassociated demeanor shows that he willfully intended to murder the Arab on the beach, a variety of psychologists would instead diagnose Meursault with Major Depressive Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder, and Asperger’s Syndrome in order to characterize his indifferent thought patterns. If Meursault is suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, he is unable to function as a normal person would which ultimately leads the jury to believe that he is actually a cold blooded killer. Antisocial Personality disorder, like Major Depressive Disorder, causes Meursault to communicate a disregard for the lives of others and lacks remorse when he harms and even kills the Arab.
The inability for others to distinct them from each other is emphasized in many episodes more prevalently the first. While shopping at the same store the sales clerk has issues pleasing both twins not knowing that they aren’t the same person and the girls being unaware of one another 's presents. Once, together the girls are unable to separate themselves enough from others to distinct the two despite having different personalities. "One’s own face is the most distinctive feature of the bodily self, and people typically show a clear advantage in recognizing their own face even more than other very familiar identities...monozygotic twins represent a unique model for exploring self-face processing." Identical twins may seem to be at a slight disadvantage when beginning to formulate self because of extremely similar physical characteristics. However, twins can develop this a little better than others. The issue with identical twins lies with getting others to distinct them. In the poem, "Ordinary Life," by Barbara Crooker, the speaker uses irony to signify how her life is anything but but ordinary. To the speaker, "this [is] a day when nothing [happens]," however, the readers can clealy see how busy the speaker's day is throughout the poem (1). The speaker's first duty of the day is to get her children ready to go to school. Then she spends her entire morning building "block stacks in the squares of light on the floor" (5-6). When "lunch [blends] into naptime" for the baby, the speaker "[cleans] out kitchen cupboards" (7-8). Ellen: Well, for those of you who haven’t read The Stranger, I’ll give a brief summary of the novel so you know what we’re talking about. Meursault is the narrator and protagonist suffering isolation from himself and the rest of the world in which he lives in. The novel begins when Meursault’s “maman” dies, and when attending the funeral, he finds that he isn’t very sorrowful or concerned about conforming to the common formalities of mourning over such a significant loss. Only one day after attending the funeral of his mother, Meursault becomes involved in an affair with a woman from his work named Marie. Meursault and one of his only friends named Raymond travel to a house on the beach, belonging to a friend of Raymond’s. While walking along the beach, Meursault and Raymond come across two Arab men, one of whom is the brother of Raymond’s ex-girlfriend. After an altercation, Meursault ends up shooting the Arab brother four times, and is then imprisoned for the murder. The jury judges Meursault to be guilty of murder and is then given the death sentence. Meursault is astounded at the verdict, after never thinking of himself as a criminal. However, he deals with his death sentence just as he has dealt with his life, that being with unimportance. Meursault thinks possibly that after death his existence could be less illogical and he could be more aligned with the universe.
