Hunting greatly affects the environment in a predominantly positive way. “[For the purposes of] economy, ecology, and environmental conservation, hunting is important.” Hunters provide a lot for environmental conservation. They also put lead into the environment. Hunting is important, however, because it helps to control deer population. Truly, when looking at the whole picture, the population of hunters is one of the biggest, most important safeguards for the environment and the entire world, as they protect and defend the safety and health of the planet for the benefit of all. Hunters provide greatly for the conservation of the environment. Kimberly Turtenwald says that hunters give back to the environment “even as they take away.” …show more content…

Hunters provide a lot for the conservation of the environment. Even though lead may have some negative effect on the environment, it is a small price to pay against the many positive effects of hunting. One extremely positive effect of hunting is population control. Some actions we can take to further environmental conservation by controlling deer include inspiring more hunters. The amount of hunters in the United States is slowly dwindling as older hunters are incapable of hunting and younger ones do not step up to take the places left open. We could also regulate and make hunting safer. One reason why many people refuse to hunt is because of the inevitable chance that someone will steal your supplies where they are set up in the woods, or will accidentally harm another human. We also need to encourage hunting instead of painting a false picture that it is completely bad for the world. It is important to keep hunting alive because of the great effect it has on keeping the environment …show more content…

Without the population control provided by regulated, regular hunting, the world would suffer from extreme overpopulation. In many ways, hunting and hunters themselves sustain the life of the entire ecosystem by wiping out so many issues straight from the roots. One of these issues comes as deer overpopulation affects plant life. The deer have no sense of how much is too much, and they might well wipe out a certain plant that is necessary for another animal’s survival, which in turn could wipe out that animal’s predators and so forth. In her peer reviewed scientific journal, Sharon Levy even goes so far as to say that the “impact of overpopulated deer… cascades through whole ecosystems.” In a literal sense, given enough time, an extreme overpopulation of deer could very easily destroy the entire
