As individuals we are driven by our emotions which are interwoven with our cultural backgrounds, ethics, and our surroundings. Are these the sources that generally mold our perspectives towards the pursuit of knowledge? Considering this, we can acknowledge that human sciences are a significant role factor in the validation of one’s pursuit of knowledge through perspective. The human sciences analyze and evaluate human behavior through a branch of psychology, interpreting one’s experiences through the course of their life. Dealing with certain situations or even others on a daily basis, inevitably influences our mindset, (positive, pessimistic, etc.) behavior, (violent, calm, shy, outgoing) dependence/independence. In particular, an individual suffering from an abusive relationship with their partner might behave shy, withdrawn, pensive, and submissive. This individual will probably feel not good enough or will most likely experience signs of depression. In my personal surroundings, living in a single-parent household, with my father out of the picture in Cuba, my mother has been left with the burden of being the only one to sustain all of our expenses. Gradually, I have come to the realization that if I want to provide viable aid to my mom, my prime focus must lie in my studies and academic grades in order to attain a full ride to college. I don’t have the luxury of allowing myself to take a break and dissuade my mindset from my studies nor would I choose to.
