I have always been a book reader and loved a good story, but when I became an avid reader during my 7th grade year I began to think of writing my own stories. At first it was nothing more than an idea, but once I read The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit I felt inspired to write a one page spinoff. A short time later, I read Jurassic Park and The Lost World by Michael Crichton. Being a dinosaur lover, I devoured both books and thoroughly enjoyed them but was deeply disappointed that there were no other books in the series. After reading through many other books of the fiction genre, I returned to Jurassic Park and felt like there should be a new installment in the book series. So on May 9th, 2016, motivated by necessity, I started to write my own continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise. I continued writing my story for a long time, but after a while I got caught up with schoolwork and had little time left for story writing. I had written a few chapters containing six thousand words, but the opportunities that I had to work on my story were spread few and far between. As school work continued to consume a majority of my time, I continued to spend almost no time on my story and even when I had time to work on it I made very little progress and my life as an author took hiatus for a while. So for this project I created a 2,000 word fictional short story which earned me a perfect 100 grade. Afterwards, with this renewed motivation I continued writing my novel. My book was now starting to take the shape of a short novel and since I wanted to make sure my story was entertaining, I had people read my story and give me constructive criticism. Finally, by July of this year, my novel had grown from around 6 thousand words to 11,566 words and I feel that it is currently one half of the way through the main story, meaning this will probably turn out to be more of short novel rather than a large extensive
