Thomas Paine was an American political activist and philosopher. Paine was also one of the founding fathers of the United States. He wrote two of the most influential pamphlets at the start of the American Revolution and was an inspiration to the rebels to declare independence from Britain in 1776.

He was born in Thetford, Norfolk and migrated to the American colonies in 1774. Paine arrived in the colonies at the same time as the American Revolution. Thomas Paine wrote his most powerful pamphlet and what I think is his greatest accomplishment Common Sense.
