Dynamics that Generated the Construction of the Beatles The construction of the Beatles formed through various key aspects that generated the Beatles success that we still see today. The atmosphere, in which these gentlemen were born into, shaped their outlook and behavior of the world. All members of the Beatles were born during World War II and matured during the reverberation of it all. Given that Liverpool is a major seaport city, it was one of the most attacked cities. It is for this reason, Liverpool received substantial damage that, unfortunately, encumbered the city for years to come. These air raids caused the destruction of “over 10,000 homes” and the loss of thousands of lives, “leaving much of the city centre in ruins” (Laing, 10). As a consequence, of the destruction of Liverpool, the country implemented rationing of certain items, ranging from; meat, butter, various imported goods, clothes, and other various items. Some members of the band were unable to fully commit to the band for “fear of conscription” (11). When the rescinding of the act was abolished, members felt a sense of relief. This overturning of the law allowed members to copiously commit to their passion, music. British rock ‘n’ roll began in the 1950’s and it wasn’t until the 1960’s when The Beatles heightened the start of the British Invasion. The band consisted of eclectic individuals such as John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. The Beatles’ group dynamic was founded on team-based operations as well as two-way innovations such as problem-to-solution and solution-to-problem of team building. However, like every group, internal and external interaction arose creating competition, which lead to both positive and negative conflict.

During the 1960’s, a very famous band came about, they were called The Beatles, they became the best known group in popular music (Ebsco Host). In the beginning of The Beatles career, they were called “The Quarrymen”. “The Quarrymen”, originated at John Lennon’s high school, when he became entertained by rock and roll in the mid-50’s. In 1960, “The Quarrymen” changed their name to “The Silver Beatles”. However, soon after they dropped the “Silver” and became just “The Beatles”. In relation to my work, the rationing of clothes during the second world war influenced the fashion of the working-class women as it became harder to find materials to make outfits, which then bought on the problem of too little material. The women working in the factories wore simple clothings such as overalls for the mere fact that it was comfortable, cheap, quick and easy to wear. The women carried large appropriate handbags to keep tools, rationing books and their essentials.
America’s defenses were breached and hysteria gripped the nation. The invasion had begun. However, the sounds of sirens did not fill the streets to warn against nuclear attacks, nor were there warnings to stay indoors. Instead the youth of America rushed into the streets of New York and welcomed the invaders with loud screams and insane fanaticism. I never once listened to The Beatles and I didn’t get into music until I was twelve years old, yet at the age of nine I knew who they were. Success was hard for the Beatles started as the Quarrymen then turning into the Silver Beatles and touring through Germany playing long hours’ day and night at different clubs and venues. The sixties and seventies were a time of war, peace and revolution, with “hippies” leading anti-war movements, and protests happening across the nation due to the administration of Richard Nixon and the Vietnam War. John Lennon originally a member of The Beatles, became a star in the anti-war subculture, and a hero to many, not only for his musicianship and the Beatle-mania that was spread across the country but for being a voice of the people.
