How has life changed for the modern individual? With the advancements in technology, comes a shift in the way of life. Although there are many benefits to always having the access to technology, another world, there are also many downfalls. For example, as the availability of being able to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere has increased, social skills have decreased. Even though a person may talk to another person all of the time on the phone, he or she is hesitant to have a face to face conversation with that person. Eliot, is people are scared to die because of discontent. People are scared to die because they don’t know what to expect next. Even those with the deepest faith in God, don’t know exactly how their life will be after death. People are often disappointed with the life they have lived, they just don’t want to admit it. People know that even in their toughest of times, others have had it harder. More specifically, those before them. People fear that in the afterlife they will meet those who had it tougher and will give them a look of shame. People don’t want others to see and realize their failures even though they know themselves.
