HIV, Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is one of the most deadliest virus in human history, however it was not until the 1980s when the severity of HIV began to rise, causing many people around the world to lose their lives.
HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system of a person and weakens it so the body can no longer fight against illnesses. This virus kills the T-helper cell ( a type of white blood cell that fights off bacteria ), and creates copies of itself inside the T-helper cell. HIV is found in bodily fluids such as semen, blood, anal fluids, and breast milk. It cannot be transferred through bodily fluids such as sweat, saliva, or urine. The most common way of transmitting HIV is through unprotected sex, infected needles, drug taking equipment, or pregnancy and birth.
AIDS on the other hand is a syndrome caused by the HIV virus. This is when the body can no longer defend itself. There are no cure for HIV nor aids but with treatments a person can live a long healthy life if they receive treatment early.

Scientific research discovered a strand of the SIV found in chimpanzee was found almost identical to the HIV in humans in 1999. Clearly there is a relationship between SIV and HIV, and many scientists came to a conclusion that HIV originated from SIV after mutation in the human body. But the question is how did the SIV virus from apes get into the body of humans? Research concluded that HIV originated from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo around the 1920s when HIV crossed species from chimpanzees to humans. HIV is a virus that is transmitted through bodily fluids so the idea of hunter and prey came into play.
