Imagine a life, minus 18 years. Losing what could be a quarter of a lifetime, would change anyone drastically. Before and During World War II, Hitler and the Nazi party held what would be called a Nazi youth group. These groups would manipulate children and teenagers into following there ways, to form the future of Germany. Abuse of the German youth is a direct result of forcibly joining Hitler Youth groups, being forced to act and think a specific way, and the mental and physical trauma they suffered in Hitlers pursuit for power.

Joining youth groups, as harmless as this may sound, it is nothing of the sort. Youth groups where cruel and distroyed the life of many children. Nazi youth groups where hardly known before Adolf Hitler came to power. …show more content…

In 1933, when the Nazi party came into power, the number jumped to a little over 2 million. Adolf Hitler believed that having youth groups was needed to insure the support of entire genrations that had been thaught the way to be a loyal supporters of Nazi views. This would also guarantee him a future for the Nazi party in Germany. In December of 1936, the youth of Germany was forced by law to join and follow the Nazi way. This law applied to all boys and girls aged 10 or older. With this law put into action, in 1940 there was well over 8 million members. Boys and girls where sepperated into different groups. 6-10 years old for boys meant you joined the Little Fellows, from 10-13 you joined the German Young People, form 14-18 joined the Hitler Youth. Now for girls, aged 10-14 you would join the Young Maidens, from 14-21 they joined the League of German Maidens. During this part of there life, boys would be taught the way of war. This is what it would have been to have lived in Germany during the years 1936-1945, possibly even longer if you take into consideration the time it took for Germany to come back from there loss. Boys and girls starting as young as 6 were instructed on what Hitler belived was right. With Adolf Hitler as a role model, the minds of children quickly became clouded with misslead thoughts and ideals. They were forced to trust and believe anything told to them, the following sentence can be used as an exemple. Anyone of Jewish descente is dispicaple. Amoung many things they were taught anti-semitism. Anti-semitism is defined as prejudice, hatred, or discrimination against Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group. The lives of German children were stolen and changed for the worse. From a poster used for the League of German Maidens "Jedes Mädchen gehört uns" this translates to "Every girl belongs to us". Another poster used for the German Young People and the Young Maidens "Jugend Dient der Leiter" a direct translation to english "Youth Serves the Leader". Therefore, it can be said that a child or teenager in Germany during this time period had no say on how to live his or her life, it was the youth groups who decided for
