High school is suppose to be a very interesting time for some teens, as it is said to be the best four years of your life. You meet new friends, learn more about your studies, and learn how life will really be like for you after it has ended. High school is also a place where it teaches teens’s how to grow up, and be an adult. One interesting way high school teaches us this is by the teens ability to get a job while they are still in school. Around the age of 15 or 16 years old, teens are able to get a part time job. With a part time job, you would work usually less than 30 hours a week. Most people will say that teens having a job takes away from their studies, and would probably start seeing their grades fall because of their job. What these people fail to see is that having a job is actually teaching these teens a lot about what it takes to actually be an adult an survive out in the real world. …show more content…

Most teens have extra curricular activities they do after school, whether its sports or school clubs. Adding a part time job to that mix can seem pretty hectic. It’s all about how one manages their time. If you don’t manage your time between school, extra curricular activities, and work, you start to feel overwhelmed. Most teens have a hard time balancing their schedules on their first job. In an interview with Alysa Lawrence, she had felt that “the first week at my job, it took me a little while to learn how to balance school and work. Once I got the hang of it, it was a lot easier”. It’s better for teens to plan out around their work schedule. You realize you have school until 3 PM, and you have to work right after that until 9 PM. By creating yourself a schedule, you’ll realize that you still have time after you get off of work to do homework. Also, the days that you have off of your job, you could be doing your homework.
