Herbalism: Personal Statement

The career i’m interested in pursuing is being a herbalist. Herbalists are people who understand the practice and art of herbalism. Herbalism refers to the use of plants and other natural resources for healing, preventing and treating illnesses, and improving health. Herbal medicine addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of an individual. The reason why I’m interested in this career is because I’m curious about the elements of nature and how it can be of use to people. I want to be able to help people as well, and I look forward to lending patients or other students my knowledge.

I know i’m fit for this career because I believe i’m a very sympathetic and helpful person. I’d like to be useful and of aid to injured people in any way I can. I also think i’m quick to understand and if I put my mind into something I can eventually learn even the hard techniques of herbalism. I’m responsible and honest so I would promise to not take advantage of my knowledge and use it having any negative intentions. I also have good communication and listening skills, and a strong interest of people so that I can be of help to people. …show more content…

They can also interact with their patients when and if they do clinical work, which is why herbalists are expected to be temperate, calm, and easy to communicate with. They have to research about the properties and uses of plants, roots, flowers, or other natural resources when it comes to herbalism. It is benefitting to know pharmacy, physiology, anatomy, biology, pharmacology, medicine and botany in undergraduate
