From the year 1885 until now, automobiles have changed drastically. In order for change to occur, a new, innovative way of doing things must pushed forth. Most people adhere to market norms. However, car and engine developers like Elon Musk, Henry Ford, Christian von Koenigsegg, George W. Mason, and Felix Wankel ignore norms in order make what they think works best. In order for someone to influence the automotive world, they must make a product that betters people or ideas, is superior to competitors, and gaps a whole in price, availability, or technology. Other people that may be considered don’t bring forth any new concepts, but rather enhance preexisting ideas. Automobiles were extremely expensive, and only the rich could afford them. Henry Ford seeked to refine the building process and streamline automobile manufacturing. Ford’s goal was to get cars in the hands of everyone. To do this, Ford’s main success was the assembly line. Instead of traditionally building a car from the ground up, Ford used machinery and manpower to construct specific assemblies at certain points down the line. As a result of the ease in manufacturing, Ford could cut the prices of his Model-T’s down to $310, the cheapest car on the market (“Henry Ford”). No other manufacturer was doing this at the time. Henry’s assembly line allowed for every American to own a car. Eventually, all manufacturers subscribed to Henry’s idea and produced cheaper automobiles using the assembly line. Henry doubled the average work payment to $5, too. This created loyal, happy employees. The goal of this company is to solely create automotive perfection. The CEO and creator, Christian von Koenigsegg, has adamantly been introducing new technologies such as pneumatic valves, a gearless car, triangle shaped suspension, z-shaped anti roll bar, hollow carbon fiber wheels, and a fully integrated fuel tank in the carbon fiber body (“Christian von Koenigsegg”). As a result of this, Koenigsegg’s cars are lighter, stronger, faster, safer, and handle much better than the competition. As of now, Koenigsegg’s Agera RS is the world’s fastest production car, sitting at 278 mph. All of Christian’s products are original and use their own innovations. Because of this, competition like Bugatti, Ferrari, and Lamborghini are all being forced to make faster, stronger cars in order to stay valid.
