In this assignment, the author will be discussing the definition of what health is. As well as what health promotion is. The author will also be looking into how as a student behaviour can have an influence on the patients care. The author will also be examining what the determinate’s of health can be, for example education social, physical, spiritual and cultural influences. When promoting health it is not just the physical aspects that are looked at, it looks at how holistic care for each person, which means it looks at physical, emotional, mental, and social and is tailored to each individual patient. With health promotion it can also involve both the patients and their families in order for them to make an informed choice but to also have support and help from their families too. It can also be very helpful for both the student nurse and the patient to locate a community based support group as it can be help the patient find a support system with people who may be going through similar situations and for the student nurse it can also be a way to promote health to different people in a wider setting. It is a nurse’s responsibility to ensure that even though they are promoting health, that everyone is different and because of this their health care needs to be tailored to each individual patient. The things that support me as a person, that can also be factored in to a patients care are 1) Information: It would be very important to understand about why you are being told to change things in your life that you may have been doing all your life. If you do not fully understand then you may not realise just how important health promotion is. 2) Eating healthy and exercising: By eating health you are fuelling your body for the day and you are not missing out on anything. With exercise you are not only keeping your body fit but it can also be a great way to release your emotions such as stress or
