Is hate or love more powerful in this play? Hate is more powerful than love in the play Romeo and Juliet. There are reasons for this, one is all of the deaths on both sides that were caused by hate, two the love that hate destroyed, and three hate destroyed both families from the inside. The first reason why hate is stronger than love in this play is because of all the deaths for both families that hate caused. People from the Montague family were just hanging out when people from the capulet family showed up. Tybalt was one of the capulets that showed up and he was not happy. He wasn’t happy because the night before Romeo had crashed his family’s party.
In result the Montague and capulets started fighting just because the hate was so strong between the families that one person can't even show up to a party without a fight breaking …show more content…

Romeo and Juliet are star crossed lovers, and their love was destined to be destroyed from the start. There love was destined to be destroyed because of their families hate. Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet, both families were at war with each other. They met at a party the same party that caused Tybalt to kill Mercutio. When Romeo showed up Juliet saw him and Romeo saw her and they fell in love. When Romeo was at the party though as stated in the second paragraph Tybalt saw him and it caused a lot of trouble. After seeing Juliet at the Capulet party Romeo married her in secret. Once Romeo and Juliet were married Romeo went into hiding for killing Tybalt. When Romeo was gone Juliet was to marry someone else against her will. As a result Juliet faked her death. When Romeo found out she had “died” he went to where her body was being kept, and killed himself not knowing she was still alive. Once Juliet woke up she did the same because Romeo killed himself. This all happened as a result of their families
