These days teens are getting more and more self conscious how they look. I want to give you some information about how this is happening. Why is it that teenagers now look so much older than they really are? I’ve seen thirteen year olds look and dress like they are in their twenties. Now why is that? We are looking at a generation that all that matters is how they look and who they are with. Now I know it’s not all of them but it is pretty close. We think we have to dress and look a certain way to meet other people’s standards. Sadly and this is just my opinion we are getting our self worth from what people think of us.
Cosmetic surgery is performed by doctors from a variety of medical fields, including plastic surgeons. The scope of cosmetic surgery encompasses breast enhancement, facial contouring, facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and skin rejuvenation. On the other hand, plastic surgery deals with reconstructive surgery. In fact, in 1999, the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons changed its name to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in order to communicate that “plastic and reconstructive surgery are one and the same”. Because it is reconstructive in nature, plastic surgery corrects dysfunctional areas of the body.
Cosmetic Surgery is the procedure done to restore or improve one’s physical appearance. The use of surgery to have an actualization of a want tends to be unneeded since it is not in line with the purpose of reestablishing what was lost or damaged. Although cosmetic surgery intends to be used for restoration purposes, many people have abused it for the sake of vanity. Cosmetic surgery also has good and bad effects on the person in many different aspects.
In the larger picture, weight loss surgeries have become “the fast food” response to weight loss demands by the public. In my opinion, many patients are using weight loss surgeries as the weight loss mean rather than their own self-control and self-discipline; instead of for use by those who couldn’t lose weight by any other way. Unfortunately, not all the participants need the weight loss surgeries, and not all receive a long lasting benefit from the surgeries. As obesity spikes nationwide, so does the use (and potential abuse by overuse) of surgical procedures for weight loss.
Ever since the fall, mankind has had a voracious desire for power and influence. People witness this desire within the walls of the Capitol Building when the media exposes backroom deals. It also springs up whenever a politician uses a podium to persuade people that he makes the world work. Politicians possibly rely on persuasion because they crave the power. However, persuasion is a manipulative, unBiblical tactic of forcing others to accept a point of view by all means necessary.
After paying $6,000 for a liposuction procedure, there is still a good chance that the fat can grow back, therefore making the liposuction surgery useless. Liposuction is a temporary fix that should not be assumed to be permanent by the patient. Even after the patients have the surgery, if they were overweight before, they are still overweight (Rowland, 1998, p.3). Besides the chance that the fat cells can return, the patient can put his or her health in jeopardy if exc...
Plastic surgery such as liposuction, also called lipoplasty, is the removal of fat, can aid in someone 's overall health by reducing the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even certain types of cancer. The modern liposuction technique using blunt cannulas for fat removal was developed in France in the year 1977 by Dr. Yves-Gerard Illouz. He performed this surgery for the first time on a woman who had a lipoma or fat growth on her back. This surgery created history as the fat was removed without any scars on the back of the woman. Liposuction is effective for removing excess fat areas of the face and body, including the following areas cheeks, neck, breasts, hips, thighs, legs, back, abdomen and waist, flanks and sides. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, liposuction is the second most popular cosmetic procedure in the country, surpassed by breast augmentation. There were 302,028 liposuction procedures done on females and 40,466 liposuction procedures on males in 2014. While liposuction is the second most popular surgical procedure, it is the number one treatment for men seeking cosmetic surgery. Doctors most commonly perform liposuction on patients age 40 and above. Seventy four percent of caucasians got liposuction and more patients on the West Coast choose liposuction than anywhere else in the country. A study by UCLA found that people
Some people’s obsession with plastic surgery is obviously getting out of control. It starts with only getting one thing fixed or corrected but then quickly escalates and before you know it, a face that once was all-flesh turns into plastic. According to a study conducted by Nigel Mercer (2009), “The number of official cosmetic surgeries has more than tripled to 34,000 since 2003”. The two reasons why plastic surgery should be banned are because of its high health risks, and because of the additional pressure it puts on people to look picture-perfect.
Cosmetic surgery is becoming a trend world-wide today because humans can never be fully satisfied in terms of looks; however, this type of surgery has many serious perils rather than some benefits that we already know.
There are no right or wrong answers; the surgery choice must fit the person based on lifestyle, habits and health problems. Weight Loss Surgery was established using three different methods; one is approach is the use of restriction of limited calories, the other focuses on malabsorption that restricts many calories the body can absorb, and the other is implanting an electrical device. Choosing weight loss surgery is a lifesaving, but what must be kept in mind that a person has to be dedicated to making permanent changes that affect their
There are many Cons’ that are associated with cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Some procedures can leave a person scared for life physically or even mentally. For instance, “Liposuction is the removal of fat cells to produce smoother contours, if to much fat and fluid is removed at once the patient could go into shock, bleed internally, or worst of all die.” (Margie Parent 2002) After some cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries sometimes it is found very common for a person to have a hard time adjust...

Moreover to changes the media has cause us to make, cosmetic surgery been the gateway to our body dissatisfaction. The difference between cosmetic and plastic is for aesthetic purposes. Cosmetic surgery is to change the appearance of facial features and body dissatisfactions. Plastic surgery is to demolish any flaws that are scars, burns or areas where it dysfunction.
