Introduction

Grouting is a method of injecting a pumpable liquid, suspension, emulsion or mortar which called grout. It is also consists of more or less pervious material that may be natural which is soil or roc or in other case it consists of man-made material which is mansory or concrete. The grout is usually injected through grout holes. The purpose of grouting is to improve the properties of the material. Increase in stress by means increase strength and reduce or increase its permeability.

The grout is charaterised by its density, viscosity and stiffness which after time is will set. It will pumped in by a grout pump at design pressure. Then, as it enters the material, the grout displaces the water filling the intergranular pores without causing any increase in volume. This term known as permeation grouting. But if the grout forces open the fissures, causing expansion whose effects may be felt at the ground level that may causing uplift, this term called hydraulic fracturing.

There are few types of grout, which are slurry grout, chemical grout, compaction grout, jet grout and fracture grout. In grouting selection consideration few items should be taking into consideration. Such as, site specific requirement which consider strength, permeability and permanence. Other than that, soil type,
In the double jet configuration, the air improves performance in removing in situ soil by acting as an air lift. Lastly, for Triple Jet soil loosening and removal is effected by water and air jets together, independently of the incorporation of the binder, which is delivered by a simultaneous jet of low pressure grout emerging from a low nozzle. The high pressure pump and circuit in the triple jet configuration carries only water. There must also be a second, low pressure grout pump, and a three-line drill
