Losing a loved one is awful, but losing a loved one considering they killed themselves is even worse. You might even feel like everything's your fault and that you could’ve done something to help stop them, but you were too late. There are several factors that could cause a teenager feel like ending it all. For example, they may receive bullying due to their physical appearance or their life at home may be rough and they are suffering from a loss or they could be abused by their family. Not everybody has it so straightforward. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 10-24 and 4,400 deaths per year from bullying. The first step for a teen to make is to ask a family member or someone you trust to recommend an organization to help you. The school guidance counselor, social worker, and psychologist are all people whom you should feel safe in asking for support. There are also many different kinds of treatment. One kind of treatment a teen could receive is group therapy. Group therapy is a method for helping people with mental or emotional problems by having them discuss their problems together in a group. Group therapy is lead by one or more psychologists and there is roughly five to fifteen patients. At group therapy, you can talk about the things in your life that cause stress or anxiety and you might find somebody in the group who can relate with you. In group therapy, you can also do activities to relieve stress other than just talking. This is important because you can reveal things about your family and your life and you can be there with people who can partially understand your tragedy. Being able to connect with people who are going through the same problems is comforting and they can help you cope with your problems.
