Group Interview Reflection

Walking into the Education Pioneers group interview on Tuesday afternoon I was excited to see how many candidates were in attendance. From my past experience with group interviews usually the interviews consist of five candidates or less, but when I saw the size of our group I knew this was going to be an exciting day. Before the interview begin I had the chance to meet some of the other candidates and we conversed about our work and college experiences until the start of the interview. At the beginning of the group interview I found it great to hear from the Education Pioneers staff about Education Pioneers and their specific roles with Education Pioneers. I also had a personal connection to the case study from my past work experience which consist of working at a failing school who had received a School Improvement Grant and used the transformation model to implement change. My group consist of people with very diverse backgrounds and I believe we worked well together. We begin by having everyone discuss what options they liked and which ones they did not like. After our first discussion we narrowed our choices downed to two options. We were between options one and two and we begin to have strong conversations about our education beliefs and dissecting each option pointing out the pros and cons of both options. Choosing between the two options was a challenge for my group but after our discussion we decided on option two. Although we had different opinions it was nice to hear other viewpoints and have a discussion with people dedicated to the field of education. We then worked on our talking points for our presentation and divided the presentation into five parts which would give everyone in our group a chance to
