Recommended: Developing a group therapy

The main strength of this group approach will be community integration. In addition, being affirmed and poured into by one’s peers may directly lead to increased self-esteem and belief in oneself. The biggest limitation that this group will face is overcoming their environments. Vulnerability and sharing are things that may not feel safe for this population. In addition, previous isolation may be a behavior that is difficult to terminate. Evaluation forms will be handed out weekly. It will be important for the social worker to gain feedback on how each group was perceived.
