Greenhouse Effect Essay

The greenhouse effect is a natural process that warms the earth’s surface. This process aims to maintain the earth’s approximate average of 33 degrees. But the problem we are facing now is that human activities, particularly burning fossil fuels, agriculture and land clearing, are rapidly increasing the concentrations of the greenhouse gases. This is the enhanced greenhouse effect which is contributing to the warming of the Earth. Humans are the main cause of global warming. The exchange of outgoing and incoming radiation warms the earth and is often referred to as the greenhouse effect due the similarity of the action to a greenhouse. (Nps.gov, 2015) The most common greenhouse gases include water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, ozone and some artificial chemicals such as chlorofluorocarbons. (LiveScience.com, 2015) This issue is relevant to society as this rapidly increasing rate of greenhouse emission released into the earth’s atmosphere is going to eventually

The challenge this generation faces is the hardship of changing age old routines in order to preserve the planet. It may seem impossible but in reality it is just difficult therefore it can be done. To reduce the output of fossil fuels is easy; the first steps are to reduce the amount of energy your house old is using. This can be done may a variety of things, namely; reducing the use of electronics such as televisions and computers. Turn these appliances of when not in use, to even double the energy you save when turning these appliances’ off connect then to a surge protector and by turning this off it reduces the energy consumption of these items greatly. Another option to reduce energy consumption is to purchase solar panels, yes they are expensive but in turn once they are paid off they start generating you money. So they isn’t any reason to not install these, they are one of the greatest inventions to prevent over energy
