Grace Murray Hopper Grace Murray Hopper was born on December 9th,1906 in New York, city. Her parents were Walter Murray, and Mary Van Horne. She was the oldest of her 3 siblings, she had a sister named Mary Murray Westcote , and a brother named Dr. Rodger Franklin Murray, 2. She also at a young age devolved a love for math from her mother. She dismantled 7 alarm clocks before her mother ever knew she had 7 alarm clocks she had taken apart. Also when she was younger she attended private schools in New York.
