It is clear that Hollywood and directors are not the most accurate in depicting certain situations in their films. This isn’t very surprising considering their job is to entertain not to educate. When movies cover topics that are commonly unknown by the general public they are likely to depict such topics in an incorrect or false way that leads viewers to believe something that is not true. More specifically, when movies cover topics such as antisocial personality disorder they can paint the wrong picture to viewers about what antisocial personality is or looks like. They did agree on lots of things but one thing they all agreed on was the ability to lie or manipulate and having a lack of remorse. The film portrayed both of these very well over the course of the movie. Firstly, Amy was able to get Nick out of the house to stage her own crime scene and was smart enough to leave subtle clues that pointed to Nick. She also managed to fake his credit card history and paint him as a gambler even though he was not. Everything she did she was able to manipulate Nick, the police, the public, and her high school stalker. After she returned she continued to manipulate every situation that was thrown at her. Every interview she was able to lie through and keep her story straight. Often times people who are diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder are considered master manipulators. She especially has a lack of remorse in several ways. She murdered her high school stalker, she destroyed her husband’s life, and continually lied to everyone about what truly happened. Never once did she look back and think what she was doing was wrong. She never felt bad and nothing she did phased her at all. This proves to her lack of remorse or empathy toward anyone or
