Earth, a single blue planet in the Milky Way galaxy of the ever-expanding universe. This planet is the birthplace of humanity and so far, the only planet we are able to inhabit safely. So, why is it that we are not concerned that we are killing the planet that made us a strong species? Global warming is the increase of overall temperature of the Earth's atmosphere, and while it has causes it has never, in recorded history, to be as extreme as to what we are experiencing in modern day. Through scientific data and photographic history, it can be easily determined that our Earth is in serious danger and we are in no rush to save it.

What most people get wrong when they hear about global warming is that they perceive that the Earth will be …show more content…

The first ice age is the Huronian and it was formed from approximately 2.1 to 2.4 billion years ago during the Proterozoic Eon. The next one happened 850 million years ago and then the Andean-Saharan occurred 430 million years after it. The Karoo and then lastly the Quaternary glaciation inflicted unbearably frigid temperatures on the planet. So far scientists have tracked the advancement and receding ice sheets of Earth and the loss of these sheets has considerable consequences to human society all across the world. Most skeptics of global warming use the Medieval Warming Period, where the Earth had substantially higher temperatures similar to what we experience in modern day, as evidence to justify it being a hoax. However, this warming period was only experienced it certain areas around Europe and North America and it lead to the little ice age, where those same areas experienced longer, colder, winters than usual. Through scientific observation and data collection, we are able to "see" the constant increase of temperature, carbon dioxide concentration, and methane concentration since the start of the Agricultural Revolution that happened in 10,000 b.c.e. There are many reasons for the drastic increase but the most logical rationale is the heavy mutilation of the Earth, by humans, from that point on in …show more content…

Coral bleaching is when coral can no longer survive, and it can no longer survive in its part of the ocean so, it dies. There is approximately 7.125 billion people who live on Earth and 1 in 8 of them, right now, are dying from lack of safe drinking water; the increase of droughts can inflict the entire world and everyone from India to the United States can feel the effects of water shortage. Hurricane Katrina and Sandy are both results of how powerful global warming can influence the strength and duration of hurricanes and how much damage it can cause to human society. A majority of important cities in the world rests near coasts and the rise in sea levels threatens everyone's safety that inhabit those cities as erosion can destroy virtually everything in its path. Rising ocean temperature is a catalyst for most of the matters that can do serious damage to human society. For example, it helps increase sea levels through thermal expansion. Lastly, ocean acidification
