Propaganda is a type of information reflecting the views and interests of a government or political party. It is used to make people agree with them. Propaganda emphasizes just one part of a situation, and exaggerates some thoughts, beliefs, etc. from time to time. Thus, propaganda is politicians’ favourite tool to advocate their personal thoughts or standpoint. My poster can be considered propaganda because it has strong political overtones which can be used to influence the thoughts of the citizens. It encourages people to feel as though they are part of a group which means it can give people a strong sense of belonging. Upon seeing the poster, they will feel that they are part of Oceania. A strong sense of patriotism pervades this poster, and it can make people more patriotic.

These three words are in Newspeak, and the meaning of this slogan is orthodoxy (or to think in an orthodox manner), greater stability and greater victory. In the novel, people must believe that Big Brother is always right and never makes mistakes. In addition, they should be willing to obey the party’s or Big Brother’s commands and have no queries. For example, when Big Brother said two plus two equal to five, the correct method is to accept it and to not ask any questions. These types of actions and thoughts are called “orthodoxy”. Though orthodoxy, the whole society will become more stable. The country would be in more solid and more moderate hands with Big Brother and the Party. Thus, Oceania will gain a greater victory in the world and people will feel proud and support Big Brother and the Party extremely.
