It is well-known that the women’s strike for equal pay in Great Britain has had a great impact on women's rights during late twentieth century. In a British movie Made in Dagenham by Nigel Cole’s based on the true story of working women ‘s strike at the sexual discrimination. These women of Ford’s company contributed greatly to improved working condition for women that has to lead to economic growth and their status in the workplace as well as in the society. Soon after, their action influences other countries that lead them to reduce gender discrimination.

It is essential to note that the women's strike in the 1970s has led to a slow economic growth. That is, the business sector is strong so that there is much financial growth. In the movie, before the strike, Rita’s family is considered as low income, they cannot purchase a refrigerator and still paying it by installment payment. Women’s income has been improved over the years because this is what they deserved. This movie has made me realize that women need not only a life but also the rights and freedoms that they have, comparing to men. No matter how the society becomes, there is always a lot of ups and downs. When people face difficulties, they should speak up and try their best to improve the situation. As portrayed in the movie, Rita uses her soft and trembling voice to illustrate the justice of men and women should be treated equally, she is uncertain about the men will be convinced after her speech, but yet she give a try and eventually persuade all the people that do not support her, including her husband that the society should not discriminate based on
