There is a high percentage of crops today are genetically modified such as corn and soybeans. Unlike cross breeding or hybridization both of which involve two related species and have been done without ill effects for centuries. Genetically modifying an organism is forcefully combining two unrelated species that have a natural bond between both species. 2) Examples of genetically modified foods are strawberries and tomatoes. Debates over whether growing GMO crops is a never ending debate. As soon as they discover something good about it there is always someone else that finds something bad about it. 3)There have been studies that show GMO crops can cause infertility, immune problems, quick aging, faulty insulin regulations, and changes in major organs in your body. These are all reasons why many people are quickly steering away from GMO foods.
BENEFITS AND DRAWBACKS: Many people want to see GMO labeling on the foods they buy today because of all the health concerns that come with them. There are many people in our society today that have no clue where their food comes from. But, there are also many people that do know where their food comes from and they are the people that want GMO labeling. They want this to know exactly what is in their food. GMO labeling has been resisted by the government so the people do not know what is in their food. If they put labels on the food around 90% of the people would not buy the food.
