Frederick Douglass was born in February 1818, in Talbot County, Maryland. Frederick was born into slavery at Bay-Side Talbot County. He didn’t know what his birthday was so he just decided it ’ was February 14. His parents were a black woman slave and he thinks his father was a white master.
When he was 7 he had to live at the Wye House Plantation. His mom had died when he was 6 years old and then he lived with his grandparents. Frederick moved to Baltimore where his new master, Hugh Auld lived when he was ten.

The book was one of the best to sell, later on he made some more more called “times of Frederick Douglass and My Bondage and My Freedom and Life. Frederick was trying to give the women the rights as men. He was went to New York in 1848 with Elizabeth Cady Stanton for the first Women’s right convention. Frederick was a moral crusade against slavery in the civil war. In the nineteenth century Frederick was the most important black American leader. For the black soldiers douglass was fight for their rights, douglass was talking to persent lincoln for their rights so he said for every prisoner killed one rebellion fight will be executed. Frederick had had made a his own book called an American slave in 1845, and he was the one who found the north star and put it in the newspaper. He was the highest african citizen with a U.S government rank. He had 3 last names bailey then johnson then to douglass.

When frederick was trying to escape he disguised himself as a freeblack sailor and had the papers to show that he was a freeblack sailor that he took from a freeblack sailor. When he was done with that he had jumped it a train when he was on the train they was a conductor and ask for the papers to show that he is free but he didn’t have them because he had gave them back to the one guy he had took them from so he gave the conductor this one thing and he told it and walk away, then went on a boat to British for 2 years, then he had came back because he had enough money to pay for his freedom.

Later on his wife had died and he married Helen Pitts, she was white from Honeoye, New York. his wife is Gideon Pitts jr. an abolitionist colleague. Sence his wife is white and 20 years younger than him his kids didn’t like the relationship. They were still married though but 11 years later frederick had died.
