Frank Foley often put himself in life or death situations and was in danger countless times. He sacrificed himself and put himself in danger many times, to save many people from death camps and other terrible scenarios. All of his time spent in WWII was to protect and save people from the terrible Nazi Germany and it’s dictator, Hitler. Frank Foley exemplifies the characteristics of a hero because he was courageous and took necessary action even when there was apparent danger; he shows us what a true hero is, and is a perfect example of what a hero is. He not only saved thousands of lives, but did so when it was dangerous for him. Others may say that he is not a hero because what he was doing was illegal, but he was essentially saving people from something that was morally and ethically wrong. He was a light in the darkness. He was an example for what was right and what people needed to become. Another may say that he is not a hero because it took so long to recognize what he had done, so therefore what he did must not really be important or heroic. The very fact that he was recognized at all when so many others weren’t is solid proof that he was a hero, and that what he did was important. Frank Foley used his resources in WWII to do the right thing. Although it was dangerous work, he managed to save thousands of Jewish lives during the war. Frank Foley did not consider himself a hero. He didn’t tell anyone of his accomplishments, and was only recognized for his accomplishments and successes several years after he passed away (Francis Foley 3). Foley is the very definition of a hero. He displayed every characteristic that a hero has, and more. Many have recounted his amazing actions and how his hand touched their lives. Frank Foley is definitely a hero and always will

There are many heroic individuals in history that have shown greatness during a time of suffering ,as well as remorse when greatness is needed, but one individual stood out to me above them all. He served as a hero among all he knew and all who knew him. This individual, Simon Wiesenthal, deserves praise for his dedication to his heroic work tracking and prosecuting Nazi war criminals that caused thousands of Jews, Gypsies, Poles and other victims of the Holocaust to suffer and perish.
In this essay I have only shown three, but there are so many more and the traits of a hero are not only restricted to people who save lives, chase bad guys, or change the world. ...an, we see the heroic actions that our US Military and their families took in order to defend our country. Private Ryan could have easily given into his rescue team and went home when he heard the news of his brothers and the members of his rescue team who had been lost while looking for him. Private Ryan, along with all the other service men and women today, are proud of the country that they fight for and are willing to do anything to defend it. As we have seen our military defend our country through the deadliest and most extensive war in history, World War II, we can see that it is these actions that make our countries real heroes. During World War II there were battles fought and rescue missions that took place, and the US Military showed their bravery as they went in to fight for our country and because of them we have become a more powerful and free country.
Malcolm X should be everyone’s hero, someone people like myself should look up to as a human being. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either a racist or is extremely ignorant. Malcolm X wore his heart on his sleeve and whether right or wrong he was never afraid to say what was on his mind to anyone who cared to listen. I personally believe Malcolm X’s beliefs give me strength to do what's right and carry myself with dignity. I remember, as a kid, my parents had tons of books about Black History books. The first book I read was a Malcolm X biography. I realized Malcolm X was truly a powerful, significant, and essential work for all time.

“If you save one life it is as if you have saved the world” ( zmdhfgcsmjv ). Heroism is not defined by the number of people who know your name or the numbers of awards you have received. However, heroism is defined by the impact an individual or a group of individuals makes on other’s lives. The Bielski Brothers were three men who made it their mission to save Jewish men, women, and children during the Holocaust. Not only did they save lives on a daily basis, but they were able to stop Nazi efforts. The impact they have made is monumental; today tens of thousands are alive because they decided not to give up. Even though the brothers risked their lives on a daily basis, they did not view themselves as heroes.
