There are two main reasons why our founding fathers established the constitution: 1. Establish a federal government for the United States of America 2. Delegate to the federal government certain, limited (and enumerated) powers For citizens of states to be able to just vote to change their state constitution shouldn’t be easy. The constitution was established for very important reasons. For us to have set of rules to follow on how to run the states. Even though it is the responsibility of the states to enforce the Constitution to manage the federal government, the state cannot run without the constitution. Basically the Constitution keeps everyone in line, the people and the states. To me amending the Constitution shouldn’t be that easy,

    By the late eighteenth century, America found itself independent from England; which was a welcomed change, but also brought with it, its own set of challenges. The newly formed National Government was acting under the Articles of Confederation, which established a “firm league of friendship” between the states, but did not give adequate power to run the country. To ensure the young nation could continue independently, Congress called for a Federal Convention to convene in Philadelphia to address the deficiencies in the Articles of Confederation. His statement was not only indicative of his beliefs, but of the beliefs of the rest of the founding fathers. They believed that a successful country was built upon principles laid out in the Bible by God, and that ultimately, the “ideal society” could be formed if everyone adhered to the guidelines established throughout the word of God. While these men were not deities that served as any sort of moral standard, they did serve as Godly influences. Their belief that the guidelines for a successful country were written in the Bible ultimately led to these men laying the foundation for one of the most dominant societies this world has ever seen.
