Imagine spending money on diseases that can kill. Countries around the world are using more and more fossil fuels every day. Many people think- fossil fuels can’t be that bad, we’ve used them for decades! Nevertheless, fossil fuels are much more harmful then they seem. This energy source can cause damage to human health, harm to the environment, and a downfall to the future of energy. However, there is another source of energy commonly overlooked.
Starting off, these fossil fuels are affecting human health. With fossil fuels on the rise, the chances of cancer, asthma, and other diseases are increasing. The burning of fossil fuels by humans is the largest source of emissions of carbon dioxide. These greenhouse gases are …show more content…

Environmental pollution is one of the major disadvantages of fossil fuels.
It is known to many that carbon dioxide is the primary gas responsible for global warming. Amanda MacMillan states that “Over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history.” These higher temperatures are causing the melting of glaciers, rising sea level, disruption of habitats, and infectious diseases due to the rise of pollen. With many countries choosing to use fossil fuels instead of healthier alternatives such as solar, wind, wave, and thermal energy, the carbon dioxide emissions are on the rise and the Earth’s health is headed downhill. Finally, fossil fuels may cause the future of energy to collapse. Fossil fuels are a nonrenewable source of energy. That means that when all fossil fuels are gone, they will not be attainable again. Since fossil fuels are the world’s main source of energy, when they are gone many homes, factories, stores, and other places will be shut down. Many people say that fossil fuels are a great source of energy. They are reliable and can get the job done. “The United States gets 81% of its total energy from oil, coal, and natural gas, all of which are fossil fuels.
