In the 1930s a man named Henry Ford took a big step in the advancement of transportation. In 1932 Ford created a new car model, and a new engine. The car, Ford Model B, was at an untimely production as the new engine took away the attention. Through the ‘30s, Ford created new versions of Fords that could accompany this new V8 engine. Standard four-cylinder engines weren’t cutting it anymore. The people wanted more.
The Ford Model B was created in Michigan, in 1932, by Henry Ford, and his line of workers. Ford took the idea and put engineer Fred Thoms to work. Henry Ford’s line of the Model B was just a half-step up from the Model A. The Model B first rolled out into the streets of Michigan in 1932 for public use.The Ford Model B is also known as the Deuce. For instance, the Model B Ford originally was a four-cylinder, roughly the body style of a Model A with a few tweaks, but the Ford Model B-40, more commonly known as the Ford Roadster, contains a B prefix. Therefore, the Roadster is in fact, a Model B Ford (Conwill). It is not, though, the original Ford Model B. The Model B was in production from 1932 - 1934. A few years, and they had already made newer Fords with the V8 engine installed. As soon as the new engine was installed, it was no longer a Model B, but a Model 18 or 32 (Gale). The difference between the B and the A are not only the engines, but rather a more complex body style as well. Also, when the Ford V8 came out with the new V8 engine, the body style had changed to the 18 or Ford V8. In the Model A, the running boards were more flat, and just fit around the wheels. However, in the Model B, they are more curved towards the wheel, giving it a sleeker and smooth design. The other models after B kept the general design, but changed the engine and outside
