Playing football is dangerous in many ways. Many people may have been told the story of Toran Maronic. He is a junior in high school at Bear River, he was injured in a non- football football camp. He ran into a bystander, the guy was standing too close to the sideline. Torana was diving for a touchdown pass when he ran into 2 men and suffered greatly. Torana suffered from a diffusion axonal injury. A very little percentage of people who have a diffusion axonal injury ever walk or even live after that accident happens. It can leave some people in a vegetative state for the rest of their lives. Toran Maronic is just one of the many people who have been injured. This will effect him for the rest of his life. A lot of harm and stress is created for the kids who play. Football ,while fun, does a lot more harm than good. A lot of hospitals in auburn have seen kids with many concussions,broken bones,head injuries. If one town decided to set some new rule, Junior football leagues are now disbanded, the town might seeing less and less injuries. The next town over will see the improvement in kids health and well being and would also diaband junior league football. Kids would have better anger management skills, cognitive thought process, happier kids. Maybe after seeing such a wonderful improvement everyone would consider setting those new rules as well, for the well being of our youth. The less football is played the better change they have of living a longer healthier life style. When they are older there brains will be in much better conditions. There have been many studies done on the development of a child's brain. When kids get hit by another person with great force it has many long term effects. The ability to “developing memory and have the ability to solve problem in middle age…” (Perry) are damaged when kids get hit with massive force. Playing full contact football can affect you for the rest of your life. Even in ways you are not aware of. Tests were given to many different types of children,some played football and some did not. The kids were being tested on their mental flexibility, cognitive thought process and intelligence.
