Fine Arts Debate Essay

Debate of The Fine Arts Many people have been debating on the fact whether or not schools should have fine art programs. Plenty say “No, it’s a waste of time. They could be doing homework for a class that really matters.” “They are never gonna use this in life, why should it even be in school.”. This debate irks me just slightly. If they are playing sports they are missing out on time they could be using for homework. Just as if they were in fine arts. Fine arts can help a person express their inner feelings, they can get away from what troubles them. Fine arts has also been shown to raise standardized test scores as well as enhancing social skills and giving one higher self-esteem.

What people fail to realize is how messed up the system really is nowadays. People rather take away classes that help students cope by expressing what they feel deep down inside. Because they’ll never use it later on in life. Sports also help students cope with inner feelings, but more than likely they are never gonna use sports once they graduate high

Children who participate in art education programs learn to work as part of a team and understand different points of view. They are also able to develop an understanding and appreciation for different cultures, which can translate to an increased sense of tolerance and social acceptance. Art programs also help children to develop a greater sense of craftsmanship and pride in their finished work. As children are encouraged to follow their vision and do their best, they can develop a greater sense of confidence and self-esteem. This increased confidence can lead to greater social participation in school. According to Abrakadoodle, a national children's art program, children who participate in the arts are four times more likely to serve as a class officer or participate in a math or science
