In the short story, “fiesta 1980”, in the book Drown, You Or the Main character, and Narrator, faced many conflicts. The central Idea of this text is about a young boy who struggles with his relationship, and his feelings towards his father. Most of the time Papi( Yuniors dad) is hostile, and declarative, towards Yunior, and the rest of the family. Papi was not only verbally aggressive, but also physically. There are these two particularly parts in the text, where Papi threatens Yunior. On page 26 of Drown, yunior states “ Papi was old-fashioned; he expected your undivided attention when you were getting your ass whupped. You couldn’t look him in the eye either-that wasn’t allowed. EVen though Yunior faces most of his conflict from Papi, Rafa couldn’t help but follow in his father's footsteps. Rafa is Yuniors older brother, he makes sure Yunior knows that by verbally putting him down, and physically hurting him. I believe Rafa might sometime take his anger out on Yunior, on page 33 it states “....., which put Rafa in a real bad mood. He looked at me like maybe he wanted to take a swing, just one to make him feel better. Leti kept whispering into Rafa’s ear, telling him it was OK.”, this shows he was thinking about it and if that girl wasn't there Yunior might have got hurt. There was another instances where Rafa came after Yunior in front of the parents. Page 311 states “Do you want me to get you a drink? Tío asked. We got beer and rum.
