Fidel Castro Dom Hauscarriague World History Summer 2015 Fidel Castro was the first communist dictator of Cuba. Despite the fact that his ethical beliefs are controversial, there is no escaping the fact that he has accomplished a lot over the years. The "Grad at Grad" document is a set of important qualities that a good leader should embody according to Saint Ignatius High School; although Fidel was not trying to master these characteristics, they are still vital to lead successfully. Handling criticism with emotional maturity, maintaining integrity, having good leadership skills / having a good work ethic and influencing others in a way that promotes justice are a few qualities of a good leader. Of course Fidel influenced others, no matter how crazy or radical someone 's beliefs and theories are, there is always going to be someone that will agree with them! Fidel 's ways of ruling and his success spread rapidly among government officials and citizens of different states. Many people see his government policies and political beliefs to be a very efficient way of ruling. Although his tactics were sometimes cruel and even inhumane they were all a part of his end goal to achieve ultimate supremacy. Any leader would dream of achieving what he has accomplished such as a strong army, obedient people, strict government, stable economy, strong military and so much more. Fidel lead his nation to become a super power and that is what many leaders want! Fidel has influenced many leaders even to this day, many are similar in the way that they don 't care who is harmed in the process as long as it doesn 't affect them or their goal. An important part of the characteristic is "that it promotes justice", but Castro didn 't care about anyone but himself. He didn 't care if his influence promoted justice, he wanted power. Since Fidel was a master of deception, it appeared that he actually cared and many people were inspired by him. Yet his following quickly lessened as truths began to be revealed. Once people began to realize what a monster he truly was, not many were influenced by him to promote justice.
