Even with the major flaws in the operations execution the idea of the operation was a good idea. Operation Fast and Furious was an operation with a good thought process behind it but with poor execution. The goal of the operation originally was to place trackers in guns and then to supply these guns to mexican cartels and work side by side with the mexican government to bring down the cartels. Operation Fast and Furious was never going to work it was a flawed operation and a way for the U.S. to give weapons to the mexican cartels. Operation fast and furious was not a flawed operation, but rather it was an operation in which the execution was everything but flawless.

Just as the attorney general was about to be disrespected because of operation fast and furious President Obama called Capitol Hill and instilled the Executive Privilege to protect him. In the operation hundreds of guns were lost because of Mr. Holder’s say and President Obama bailed him out just as he was to be held accountable for his actions that left a Border Patrol agent dead. this was able to happen on the claim that if the documents were released it could jeopardize ongoing investigations. The White House has released some documents however all say the same thing and do not give the answers people are looking for; the White House is more worried about protecting the name of Eric Holder than giving us the information we want and deserve as U.S. citizens. Many things caused the failure of the potentially life saving operation and caused it to be an operation that cost the life of a border patrol agent. Although the operation had a good goal there was no possibility of success in the sense of how not everything was thought out and executed correctly. Martin Luther King Jr. said “In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” in the instance of gun walking or Operation Fast and furious one could say that the government is the silent friend who stands by and does nothing. The murder as horrible as it sounds will be forgotten by the country but the government giving cartels guns the passive action will never be
