Do you ever think you would kill someone out of jealousy? Well, in The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, he shows the worst of people when consumed by jealousy. Jealousy makes people hate and/or not trust other people. For example, before they went to New York, Tom and Gatsby got in an argument. Tom only argued with Gatsby because he jealous and thought Gatsby was sleeping with Daisy. “Certainly not for a common swindler who’d have to steal the ring he put on her finger.” Later, when Daisy went to Gatsby’s house, Tom went with because he didn't trust them together alone. Finally, Tom convinces Mr. Wilson to kill Gatsby. He did this because he did not like Gatsby and didn't want him with Daisy anymore. Jealousy can make someone go crazy.
